Dangling your feet out of an aircraft at 2000ft off the ground while filming comes quite naturally to me having been a military photographer for 10 years previous. However, concentrating on the task at hand is the hard thing when the temptation to look around is there! Yes that is a piece of rope tied onto the handle of the camera... We were up off the coast of Waiuku and down as far as Raglan in New Zealand filming a race between three gliders for a stand-alone documentary. These guys were gliding at times just a few feet above the ground looking for pockets of air that would then rocket them back up to a safe height in order to make it across wide river mouths... amazing skills!
