Documentary making is our passion. Be it a personal ambition or part of someone else's desire to tell the world their story - we will listen, shoot and give it all the attention it deserves.

Nixon Pictures was established in 2001. Over the years we have supported both the business sector and the television industry. However, to meet the demands of a growing number of producers who want to shoot documentaries in New Zealand, neighbouring countries and internationally, we now specialise in this field - documentary-making. We are based in Auckland and have a wide network of crews and interpreters on call. We also take the mystery and confusion out of filming in a foreign English country for those wanting shoot 'down-under'. When you’re a stranger in a strange land it makes life so much easier to be with someone who is fully conversant with the local scene.

Fly-fishing is probably the most enjoyable past-time I can think of. New Zealand offers some of the best Trout fishing in the world and it's not hard to slip out of the city and into a back-country river with not a soul in sight. My favourite river would have to be the Ruakituri situated on the eastern edge of the Urewera National Park, Eastland. This river is rare in New Zealand as it's now promoted as a 'trophy' river where you have to release the big fish - not the little ones!
Going fast in any sort of aircraft... whether it's high, low, upside down or vertical, I love it! While I have never considered obtaining my pilot license, I'll still grab the chance to take the controls if offered. The golden era of the RNZAF is long over now, but I was very fortunate to have spent it flying in Strikemasters and Skyhawks, while friends with private pilot licenses weren't far away either. I've even been known to have jumped out of a few... on purpose.
